IT Governance – Performance Management

The fifth area of IT governance is performance management. After implementing an IT system, a company must ask if it is working as expected. Is the IT system delivering the value that was anticipated? Do resources need to be allocated differently to ensure greater benefits?

This step mirrors the monitoring step of the internal controls framework. Once IT systems are in place, they must be monitored regularly to ensure effective operation.
