Information Technology (IT) Governance
The first IT section we’ll delve into concerns IT governance – how a company manages its IT environment. The IT Governance Institute issued a five-part framework for IT governance. We’re going to discuss each of these five areas that contribute to effective IT governance.
Much like with internal controls and ERM, we had five components, and with IT governance, we also have five components:
1. Strategic Alignment
2. Value Delivery
3. Risk Management
4. Resource Management
5. Performance Management
