Decision-Making Systems

Don’t focus on memorizing all of these different types of systems. Just remember that they fall under this major category of decision-making systems and make a note of which ones are specifically for the executives, not just for management.

First is the Management Information System, which assists with the strategic process. Nextis the Decision Support System, which is for day-to-day decision-making, not the overall strategic process. Next is the Executive Information System. From the word “executive,” we understand that this is specifically for senior executives.

Following that is “what-if” analysis, which is for forecasting future scenarios. Next, we have the use of Artificial Intelligence, which uses AI to automate the decision-making process. The last three systems, Enterprise, Business, and Corporate Performance Management Systems, all serve executives in making decisions. These comprise the different systems under the decision-making category.
